“On the plains of hesitation lie the blackened bones of countless millions who at the dawn of victory lay down to rest, and in resting died." - Adlai Stevenson
All the Pretty Horses
Testimony of Two Men
In 1982, Charlie founded The Andriole Group with four core values in mind: integrity, respect, excellence, and client focus. Charlie envisioned a practice where individuals, families and their businesses could trust that their advisors not only had the resources and experience to help them achieve their financial objectives, but also the unbridled willingness to put their clients’ interests before their own. Now a team of twelve, Charlie has led The Andriole Group for over forty years with one resounding voice: when we put our clients’ best interests first, their success, as well as ours, will follow.
From the beginning of his career, Charlie has been committed to mentoring and enabling next generation leaders, which continues to be a passion as he shapes the ever-evolving future of The Andriole Group with his executive leadership team. Charlie also serves as the Senior Portfolio Manager of the firm, bringing his four decades of experience in discretionary investment management to The Andriole Group’s clients. Charlie focuses primarily on macroeconomic research and individual equity portfolios.
Charlie is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers. He is a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute, the New York Society of Security Analysts, and the Investments & Wealth Institute. Charlie speaks frequently on discretionary investment management, business process and management, and collaborative leadership. He has been frequently recognized by his industry peers throughout his celebrated career – including an induction into Research Magazine’s 2004 Advisor Hall of Fame. In 2008, Charlie was honored by Connecticut Magazine as one of the Top Financial Advisors in Connecticut. Charlie has also been frequently recognized on Barron’s “Top 1,000 Advisors by-State” list and by the Financial Times on their list of Top Retirement Plan Advisors.
Charlie earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Villanova University. He completed postgraduate studies in Accounting at Villanova University, Economics at Yale University, Finance at New York University, Technical Market Analysis at the New York Institute of Finance, as well as Executive Education in Business and Leadership at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, Portfolio Management Analytics at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and Behavioral Finance at Harvard University. He holds his Certified Portfolio Manager® (CPM®) and Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designations.
One of The Andriole Group’s most important core values has always been giving back – and Charlie has always embodied this value through his actions. Charlie founded The Andriole Fund of the Branford Community Foundation in 1997 and is a former member of the Board of Directors. He is a former member of the United Way of Branford, Connecticut, a former member of The Children’s Center of Hamden, the former Chairman of the Board of Managers of the Soundview Family YMCA, a former member of the Board of Directors of the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA, and the President of the Yale Youth Hockey Association. Charlie is also a member of the Alexis de Tocqueville Society of the United Way of Greater New Haven, as well as a 2010 recipient of the Alexis de Tocqueville Society Award for commitment to community service.
